I found a NIFTY THING! It's this cool little extension for firefox, and it's designed to allow multiple gmail accounts to be opened in one browser window but a) I couldn't get that to work and b) who cares when you can be logged in to multiple journals - one in each tab!

It does not work if you use LJ login to log in to your journals. You have to log in to each tab with each account, but once you've done so, each tab STAYS logged in as a different account.


First step is install it: if it doesn't install automatically, but rather brings up the save as dialogue box -- choose open with and browse to firefox in the programs menu.

Then:

1) Start firefox with cookies cleared
2) Open a new tab for each account you want to be logged into
3) Right click on the tab and Toggle cookie on. A wee cookie will appear on the tab.
4) Go to livejournal and log in using the webpage log in box for each journal, one in each tabs.
5) Play to your heart's content without having to change log-ins. If you need to open a thread in a new tab, open the tab first, toggle cookies on, C&P the link into the address bar, and log in from there.

It's perhaps a bit fiddly for day to day game play, but for big events it could save a lot of fussing around with changing log-ins and refreshing. It would also be awesome for when you wanted to fiddle with one LJ layout and play from another at the same time!

I've got the latest version of Firefox, and it works with that.

ETA: Log in to Gmail FIRST before you do the tab thing above. Gmail doesn't seem to like it much.

ETA 2! Apparently you can use LJ login to switch between accounts in a non-cookie tab, even while you're logged into other accounts in cookie tabs!
