Town Classifieds and Living Arrangements Update (plus bonus reminder)

It's time to catch up with who has job openings and residence vacancies, where our new grown-ups have settled in or our old ones have shifted, and any changes to your business info you'd like to make.

Please take a look through the OCD threads within, and if it applies to you, let us know.

Bonus Reminder: For everybody, students, teachers and townies alike, please take a moment to check out the user-info pages for your characters (yourjournalname.livejournal.com/profile) and make sure that they contain the required info listed here so that your fellow players can contact you if needed!

(For people searching for jobs, just a quick run-down: Townies must have a business or work for someone else. Students may have a job, but aren't required to, and teachers are welcome to pick up a job in town too, as long as the player has time to keep up with both responsibilities.)

Business owners, please ping in with the name of the business, what day(s) you have openings, and any special concerns or restrictions. (Only adults, only students, etc.)

Caritas has openings on Saturday or ~~Sunday~~. Or Thursday, since I can switch my shift. I keep forgetting to post on Thursdays anyway.

I'm not sure if I should be the one posting this or not, but 'Dite's Decadent Delights has shifts available for every day that isn't Monday or Tuesday.

The Gig has openings available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Experience with horses is a plus, but Dani will ~~grudgingly~~ provide training.

The Arms Hotel has shifts available for every day of the week except Wednesday and Friday.

Businesses each have an individual listing in the Town Directory. If you own one and would like updates made to the entry (or if you're an employee at an NPC-owned business and see a change that needs to be made), drop us a line here and let us know!

(You can also drop a note directly into the individual entry for your business at any time, and we'll get that updated ASAP.)

Please ping in with your address (or just the name of your building), number of living spaces you've got open, and any other pertinent info you'd like to add! This applies to people who have houses who'd welcome a roomie, as well as apartment/hotel managers.

Please ping in with the name(s) of your adult character(s) and their place of residence, IF it's not listed in the Town Address List, or is listed incorrectly. Pre-arranged addresses that haven't been moved into yet are fine to list here too. If it's a spot in one of the apartments or the hotel, you don't need the street address, just apartment/room number.

Funny story: My daughter is obsessed with cupcakes, making and eating. Because it's that or watch more Dora, we bake a lot. So we now have ten cupcakes sitting on a plate upstairs that are up for grabs.

I would claim I felt virtuous for not eating them, but the truth is they're too sweet for me.

Anyhow, if they could be passed through the Internet, they would all be yours.

Mmmmm, cupcakes. They're potentially too sweet for me in the literal "would make me ill because I've had gastric bypass" way, but the risk is so damned tempting sometimes.

(She said as she sucked coffee through a straw, both of which are also technically forbidden, but the sugar thing is legit and the caffeine and straws are BS and I treat them accordingly.)

These are too sweet for me in the "ew, packaged vanilla frosting is basically sugary Crisco" sense. Sadly. I never felt that way until I turned 30.

No lie, I have made frosting with powdered sugar and Crisco. In Home Ec class, yet.

Straws are in the land of "You might swallow too much air and feel uncomfortable" rather than really being forbidden, and it doesn't have that effect on me, so I'm fine with them.

The caffeine thing is officially "because caffeine is dehydrating" which has pretty much been debunked by recent studies, yet various medical professionals still push it as true, either because they aren't up to speed, or because it's an easy answer to give in place of "we just don't think it's really healthy for anybody, but since we've got you here listening to our diet advice anyway, we'll be taking advantage of that." No Carbonated Beverages falls under that same "the official reason we give has been proven to be bullshit, but we're going to keep using it anyway" act.

I am, as certain parties can attest to, a girl who is kind of a dude IRL. Yet baking muffins or cupcakes is my number-one anti-anxiety medicine (it keeps me from jittering up through the ceiling when I get attacks). I'm not sure whether I should feel proud of that, or just terrified.

Most of the time I just leave them sitting around the house, too.

I think baking >>> more productive as a way to calm yourself than kicking holes in things, as some of us have been known to do. (I've stopped. Mostly.)

Either that, or you have a secret housewife desperately trying to make herself known.

Oh, yeah, back in the day I'd just turn up Anti-Flag's Die for Your Government and rampage through the living room, so I think my relatives, at least, are pleased with the development.

BUT I REFUSE TO BE A HOUSEWIFE.

Not sure if this is relevant for the 'Rooms for Rent' thread or not, but somewhere I have a map/rough blueprint of the renovations Lulu did to the apartment above Fina during the time she owned it -- two bedroom that has exterior access as well as interior staircase directly to Fina, as well as a small bachelor's flat with its own exterior access.
